This well-balanced coffee, perfect for everyday enjoyment, combines the refreshing tartness and sweetness of large-fruited citrus varieties such as buntan pomelo and hassaku, or plums, with a floral notes of blossoms and a sweet aftertaste of brown sugar, all in exquisite harmony.

Nyeri Hill is situated in the highlands of Mount Kenya, at an altitude of 1,700 metres. Set amidst fertile land covered in red volcanic soil, it is one of Kenya’s oldest coffee estates, owned by the Catholic Church. The vast farmland is primarily planted with SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties, and the coffee trees are cultivated alongside macadamia trees, which provide shade.

All coffee from Nyeri Hill is processed using the fully washed method. Once harvested, the fully ripe cherries are pulped, undergo a 24-hour dry fermentation, are washed in clear spring water, and are then carefully dried on drying racks. The farm employs 380 permanent staff and, at the height of the harvest season, takes on between 100 and 150 seasonal workers from the local community. Furthermore, the profits of this farm are reinvested in the church’s missionary work within the prefecture and are also used to fund the running of schools and hospitals. This historic farm continues to support employment, education and healthcare in the local community through its coffee production.
